Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

SmartHomeWeb (“SHW”, “we”) is a home-automation platform that lets you control and automate household devices (smart plugs, lights, sensors) connected over MQTT. This policy applies to the website smarthomeweb.com.ar, its apps and its third-party integrations, including Google Home.

2. Data we collect

When your account is created (either by us or by you when activating a product):

  • First name, last name and national ID number (account identification).
  • Email address (login and notifications).
  • Phone number, address and city (optional, for support/installation).

About your devices:

  • The name you assign to each device and its state (on/off, online/offline).
  • Sensor readings (temperature, humidity, etc.) if your installation includes them.
  • Action history (turn-ons, turn-offs, automations) associated with your account.

We do not collect audio, video or geographic location data. SHW devices have no built-in cameras or microphones.

3. Google Home integration

If you link your account with Google Home (Account Linking), we share with Google only:

  • An internal identifier of your account (not your ID number, phone or address).
  • The name and type (light, plug, etc.) of the devices you chose to expose.
  • The current state of those devices (on/off, online/offline).

Google sends us commands (“turn on”, “turn off”) that we execute on the corresponding device. We do not share your email, password, ID number, phone or address with Google. You control which devices to expose from the SHW panel (the Google Home section of each device) and you can unlink your account at any time from My account or from the Google Home app.

4. How we use your data

  • To operate your account and your devices (on/off, schedules, automations).
  • To send you the notifications you enabled (state changes, devices going offline).
  • Technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Billing for contracted services (where applicable).

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

5. Where data is stored

Data is stored on SHW’s own servers (Argentina), with restricted access and encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are stored using cryptographic hashing (never in plain text).

6. Your rights

You can request access to, correction or deletion of your data, and revoke Google Home’s access at any time, by writing to soporte@smarthomeweb.com.ar.
